About The Artwork
Crudely made woodcut printed with thick oil based printing ink on a yellow printed ground. Each one is unique -heavily touched up by hand, leading to a texturally diverse surface caused by the suction of lifting the paper off the wooden block or by brush - stippled or stroked. Numbers 9-29 were sold out after a copy was selected for inclusion in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2021. The 21 copies were sold before the exhibition opened to the public. Only 30 of a proposed edition of 100 have so far been made. I am planning to have more ready for sale in early 2022. A photographic print is available from the Royal Academy of Art (London). It also features in the Royal Academy of Art calendar 2023.
