About The Artwork

Xylography printed by hand on natural colored Bhumtang Yeti paper (handmade). for my woodcuts I often carve in used and found pieces of wood. The surface of the wood is not always smooth and has marks. The work in graphic arts explores content, form and transformation in series, edition and through repetition. Editions and series are small, hardly going over a number of 50. When indicating here a limited edition of number 1 of 1 , in this case means, there exists 1 singular, unique print. This artwork is also available on the Artmajeur webpage - the price of the artwork is the same though a difference in price indication might occur with the calculation of transportation.

https://jasmingenzel.com "Jasmin Genzel works on a visual atlas composed by minimal gestures, where subtracting has more importance than the posing and placing. ‘By force of uplifting’ could be the title of this introduction and in general to her work (…). It is the ridge between thinking and acting that her work communicates and evokes (…)" by Benedetta Cestelli Guidi, Roma October 2006. "Jasmin Genzel is not a member of a specific movement in art. She goes her own way. (...) Her works show the approach of the Arte Povera, Conceptual Art and maybe some ideas of Joseph Beuys. Jasmin Genzel is typically an artist with her roots in the late twentieth century. There are some interesting contradictions in her work. (...) It makes her works both poetical and philosophical.
