About The Artwork

This print was made using an outlined vector of a scarab beetle, embodying the concept of existence, development, and growth. The scarab was revered for representing the cycle of life and death. Inside the scarab beetle is images of the Jacaranda Tree; symbolising wisdom, rebirth, wealth and good luck. The green textured element is taken from macro images of bees wings; representing fragility in nature and perseverance. This print was made in response to the climate crisis. Showcasing these ancient, prehistoric beetles, and merging them with the symbolism of rebirth and wisdom, and tying it together in a fragile, neat little bow. Using the bees wings almost as a casing; a metaphor for how fragile life, and indeed, our eco-system is.
