I'm a graphic designer. Very passionate about patterns, fibers, textures and textile. I started exploring with everyday objects, in this case an orange sack, that’s how the oranges come In South America. I unweaved it and played around with the idea of dressing or wrapping the balsa wood with parts of the sack, almost as if I wanted to dress and undress it various forms. In this case I’m went a bit further… Still exploring… still challenging myself! Love the end result! Each art work or matrix will be signed once it's sold and of course before shipping!

Anastasia Carpio has always participated in the world of visual arts. Her solid track record in the field of graphic design and teaching, with extensive knowledge of the typographic area. Graduated in Fine Arts, Cum Laude, from the Fashion Institute of Technology, in New York. Her life experience and her training have converged, in a decisive way, in her approach to artistic fact, allowing the awakening of a comprehensive visual artist. For Anastasia, the creative process is a discipline in constant evolution. Her work is inspired by the ephemeral and temporary, by the experiences that she brings with her to the places where she develops her work; there she integrates them with materials found in the place, seeking a new sense of rootedness, adaptability to change and a tangible, physical and emotional connection, an important part of her artistic production. A world of possibilities and deep connections opened up in 2016, after a stay in Mexico, where she studied different techniques, including tapestry weaving, and began to explore the possibilities and uses of fibers. The exploration of materials, formats, and surfaces contemplates infinite possibilities. Her life experiences, her childhood, her travels, cities and countries, and the constant displacement led her to uproot, and the "lack of belonging". This stimulates the challenge of creating new "connections". She is currently exploring new materials, such as construction wire, woven from which she builds the "EmptyNest" metaphor, representing the emptiness of her own family nest, of the house or structure that she no longer inhabits or that in many ways is weak or non-existent. Her most recent participation was in the 2022 Contextile International Biennial, “Stitching The Soul”, creating a piece stimulated by the need to process her recent mourning for the loss of her father, which transformed into a creative act.
