Laurie Vincent is best known as the guitarist of Slaves, the English punk duo. Currently he is producing and releasing new music under the moniker LARRY PINK THE HUMAN. Alongside his talents as a songwriter and performer, Laurie has produced artwork for his band’s gig posters as well as its album covers. His paintings are simple, bold, expressive and powerful. His distinctive use of line make his work instantly recognisable, no matter the subject matter he chooses. His work carries a clear influence by artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Rose Wylie, David Lynch, Raymond Pettibon, Barry McGee and Keith Haring. Laurie’s recent work has been much more self reflective and influenced by the trials he has faced in his personal life over the past year. Scenes drawing from home life and the comforts he creates for himself.
