PRINTING SPECS & INTEGRITY: Every print comes signed, titled, and numbered with a Certificate of Authenticity. Printed on museum grade, 300 GSM Bright White Matte 100% Cotton Rag paper with the use of archival inks. Lifetime quality guaranteed. I work closely with my dedicated fine arts printer and oversee the production of each print edition from start to completion. To ensure for print consistency and color accuracy, I personally inspect every piece before it gets the go-ahead to live its new life with you :) STATEMENT: In this series, "Motion Hierarchies," I consider a particle of light undergoing simultaneous phase transitions within indefinite time. In this space, exists every possible outcome. These ideas are represented in physics by the concept of "phase space." I see these pieces as windows into suspended time, where discrete moments unfold to reveal their directing principles, or "rules," that govern its system. Through this lens, I consider the importance of how we let chance and uncertainty inform the decisions we make and actions we take that shape our own individual lives and those of others around us. We all exist in indefinite planes of space to be explored— whether it be literal geographical space, space held within our own bodies, mental headspace, the emotional space between relationships...We control the shape they take.

Jori Johnson (b. 1989) is a Southern California native, currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Both her creative process and content of her work are interwoven with the mental and physical health challenges that she has learned to navigate beginning in her early 20's. While initially inspired by personal experience, her practice is then built upon the synthesis of interdisciplinary research across a variety of scientific fields, processed through mediums of painting, installation, creative writing, and musical composition. Though her overall practice is primarily focused within the visual disciplines, written and musical compositions are always actively informing the work she creates. Jori earned both her Bachelor’s of Arts in Fine Art and a Master’s of Fine Art from Azusa Pacific University, Azusa, CA (2010, 2018). Jori’s work has been exhibited nationally including Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, Nashville, Dallas, and Long Beach. Recent gallery shows include group exhibitions at Long Beach Institute of Art and Science in Long Beach, NJ and Brea Gallery in Brea, CA. This summer, Johnson co-curated and is exhibiting in a group exhibition of 6 other women artists, “Mending Space,” at Perspectives Space Gallery in Encinitas, CA.
