Old Tree Print - Limited Edition of 100

Ralf Schneider has been interested in painting and print making most of his life. He is inspired by the colours, forms and structures which can be found within the natural vegetation and environment of the "˜road side'. These areas which are often neglected are explored in Ralf's work; showing the interesting metamorphic transition of trees from life to death. Here the trees are shown in an almost personified quality, whose subtle beauty and uniqueness is brought out as in a portrait. Other motifs display things, that once were important to the humans but have been forgotten and on account of this are now becoming part of the nature again. During this process also shapes and surfaces change to an aesthetic farewell. The etchings offer fine detail of surface and forms in various stages of decay and transitions.
