France
I was born in 1957 in Marseille (France) and I'm actually active in ParisI'm painting and engraving on plexiglas. I mix techniques and topics. In the 2000s, I discover painting on plexiglass: I find in this technique, the luminosity of the colors that he appreciated coaster, the work of the material which combines the flexibility of the color and the surprise of the engraving. I leads us to take a new look at objects that seem to have said it all, that we no longer see, covered by habit or new desires. He first seeks to find the object, its strength, its simplicity, its spontaneity by drawing inspiration from the engraving techniques of the masters of the 15th century. Inspired by Pop art and Rauschenberg in particular, Philippe then confronts this engraving with new colors, with other images to bring a stronger presence to this object... and to question our gaze. I paint on Plexiglas panels using the technique of fixed under glass. I pass layers of acrylic paint, integrate reworked images, deposits gold or silver leaf on the back of the plexiglass. Then scratches, engraves to iron layers of acrylics which will in turn be engraved until a movement, an instability, a tension appears. you can follow my activities on http://philippeauriol.over-blog.com/
