About The Artwork
The Ajman stamp in the Ottoman screen printing was inspired by a holiday and the Stamp was collected in Turkey. Also the necklace bought for me at the Bodrum Castle. This fine piece of Turkish art in silver balls and scrolls depicts the great style of the Ottoman period. The Turkish vase in the background as a backdrop for the picture. The enlarged pale blue balls is abstracted from the necklace. Travelling to Turkey gave me a greater understanding of that great and much feared of the Ottoman Empire.

I was born in 1941 at Bushy, Stanmore, Middx,UK , worked as a typist in an Import & Export firm in London and my name was Griffiths, I subsequently married several times. Unfulfilled as a typist I joined the RAMC and served as an orderly within the medical centre there for 2yrs. On leaving I went to S.Africa with my sister and carried on my secretarial career in the Johannesburg Hospital and worked there for six years, happy there but still not satisfied I brought my children back to England, and pursued my interest into Art and began to do Art at the Local North Hertfordshire College. As a mature student, they offered pupils an Art course over several years as Batchelor of Technology in Art & Design. B.Tec Diploma June 1994 - Business & Technology Education Council.
