It`s a copy of engraving from Claude Paradin Devises Heroiques(1557). The devise for this emblem is ''Fons invocantis''(lat.) means ''The fountain of invocation''. It based on the legend about Samson, biblical judge sometimes known as "Sansón". Here is the short story: Samson, invoking God to his pain (feeling crushed of extreme thirst), was rescued with divine water: which came to flow by one of the large teeth of the donkey jaw. It was a miracle. And Samson quenched the thirst not only of himself, but also of his people. From which it follows that simplicity deserves the grace of God, which is the source of eternal life.
