Jean Marie Haessle was born in Alsace, France. After spending four years in Paris where he briefly frequented the Ecole des Beaux Art he moved to New York City in 1967. At first working at various jobs, Columbia Records, NYTimes he settled in the pursuit of his carrier as an artist. In 1972 he moved to his current location on Spring street in Soho. In those early days ( end of 1970's to 1980's) he witnessed and participated in the formation of what became a world wide phenomena of new way of living and doing art. He met and befriended others artists: Bernar Venet, Arman, Louise Bourgeois, Dorothea Tanning, Basquiat... his neighbor was Donald Jude occupying an entire building. Jean Marie Haessle had numerous shows in the US, Mexico, Europe and Asia. He is represented by: Mizuma & Kips, New York NY as well as Wada Garou in Tokyo Japan, Galerie Claire Gastaud, Clermont-Ferrand, France - Keumsan gallery, Seoul, Korea - Current exhibition at Uchigo and Shizimi Gallery and Wada garou in Japan Tokyo June 26 to August 1 2020
