White flowers and jug Print - Limited Edition of 25

I was inspired by the contrast of texture in these objects, the delicate white flowers and shiny white glaze of the jug against the dark, rich kelim rug, which I felt was prefect for an aquatint etching. The drawing is done with an etching needle into a hard wax ground on a copper plate, and etched in an acid bath, then the tones are produced by burning a layer of aquatint resin onto the plate. The tones are then gradually stopped out from light to dark, with a dip into the acid between each tone. The plate is then inked and wiped and printed - each print in an edition is printed individually in a limited edition.
