About The Artwork
The piece was inspired by an old archive which was found in a forsaken house. The book contains text and images made by the artist, so the viewer will be able to experience connection with the story presented in this book. Annotation A half rotten archive was found at the old cottage’s attic gives an inside to Ivan Scotinin's (the owner the house) secret – his real identity. Insurance statements, payment receipts, notes and stocks… All these documents point out that their owner was a typical farmer, a peaceful Soviet peasant. But is he really the person he seems to be, and what horrifying truth the old cottage walls keep…
