It represents the birth of Frida Kahlo. As for the rest of our SKULLS collection, 06.07.1907 represents the time of birth, however, it outlined by traits latent effect, which is death. The work is inspired by Frida Kahlo, for us a strong and revolutionary woman. 06.07.1907 is in fact her the date of birth. Usually portrayed with classic floral hairstyles, we wanted to emphasize this element recreating the rain forest, typical of the regions of Mexico, with artificial flowers and budgies. We only use poplar wood. The iron nails are always treated. We have used 1 nail 5,5 inch high for the nouse, 3 nails 2,7 inch high for the eyes and piercing and about 2.000 nails 1,18 inch high for the skull and its details. We have used 140 mt Combed Egyptian cotton We love the technique of string art because we can give endless possibilities of expression and we think that it is the best representation of our belief: we are all parallel lines in search of connections. We love it because the repetitive gesture of the bowls hammer and listening to music in loop, takes us into a sort of trance from which it is difficult to get out. We are doped of String Art, and we plan to propose this technique in an innovative and original way

Parallel Lines borns from an extraordinary connection between two artists: Silvia and Ilaria. Each work is an expression of our life and emotions as women. The Fil Rouge of our work focuses on three elements: the female world, the dissension and the provocation. It’s through the String Art, that we express our vision, creating three-dimensional images with a strong and outrageous visual! Silvia Lana, hand letterer and food typographer artist, has been working in the field of creativity for years. Eclectic and explosive, she has grown into a path of extensive research of new expressive techniques, creating many intuitive and fresh ideas. Ilaria Marchesini, the youngest, already boasts a collaboration with an internationally renowned artist who works steadily in the United States.
