About The Artwork

ceramicsandstories.com //Turkish rug motifs and Ottoman human silhouettes are used as particles describing the rhythm of an interlocking series of stories. The motifs are designed, drawn and painted separately for each tablet. Some of the motifs are “Eye (Göz) / Evil Eye (Nazarlık) Eye, Cross (Haç), Ram's Horn (Koçboynuzu), Fertility (Bereket), Wolf's Mouth (Kurt İzi), Star (Yıldız), Love and Unison (Aşk ve Birleşim), Star (Yıldız) and Fetter (Bukaǧı)”. Georg&Schneider Stoneware white mud is used for the tablets. The first firing is done by hand shaping. After the first firing step, the lining and oxidation steps are completed. Afterwards, the patterns are drawn, the coloring is completed, the glazes are made and the tablets are made ready for the second firing. Iron oxide, red chromium oxide, green cobalt oxide, copper oxide and manganese oxide are used. Duncan and Botz, transparent-gloss and transparent-matt glazes are used to activate the colors. In the tablets, tile paints are also taken as pigments and diluted. The composition is completed by using red, blue, green, black, green-spotted, gray-spotted and dark blue primers. Upper Frame: 50cmx50cmx3cm (19,68"x19,68"x1,18") Back Frame: 100cmx100cmx7,5cm (39,37"x39,37"x2,95") Total Size: 100cmx100cmx7,5cm (39,37"x39,37"x2,95") //Please visit ceramicsandstories.com //For questions regarding our products and services you can also contact us by filling out the form in: ceramicsandstories.com/contact
