About The Artwork
This Garden altar is composed of hand carved cedar, imbedded stones, glass,and some copper and bronze. It is meant to express the spirit of nature instead of being a religious devotional. In strong light, this piece focuses light that plays on the interior in organic patterns. The ravens that live near my farm inspired the bird that flies over the altar to protect a cedar egg. I have made a simple rock garden on the other side of the base. This is finished so that it could stand outdoors.

My recent work includes two series of paintings. One is a quartet of paintings that tell the story of a horse and rider on a quest for peace. These are about current events, but also about the life as a rider of a horse in the twenty-first century. The other series is abstract and geometric. I am also including a garden altar that I made of cedar, glass, and various pieces of rock and bronze. My work before has been mostly figurative: landscapes and images of abstracted people.
