I was inspired by my love for Puccini's opera and Umberto Brunelleschi sketches in 1924 for the opera Turandot. The fragility of the paper, worked with glue, in a way that is not perfectly defined, refers to the sketch, to the immediacy of the preliminary sketch of a work. That's what I would like to get to the viewer of my work: the dynamic procession of the artistic gesture during the creation of this sculpture.

I love to invent, build and design the most disparate objects. The best occasions are in the theatre. I worked as ser designer and tool maker for the opera and dance. Sculpture is congenial to me and I've preferred paper to durable materials perhaps because of its affinity to the ephemeral nature of the play. Paper is the sheet where the project is born, where the first sketch of the idea will take shape and that shape must maintain the immediacy of the sketch. The sign must retain its essentiality and thus exclude the use of colors: only black ink more or less diluted for gray variations, and the white color of the paper with all its differences in tone and transparency.
