About The Artwork

Amarante This artwork is part of my "Transparencies Series." The paintings, objects, and sculptures created are exclusively made with the marvelous colors of Murano glass. Amarante is a leaf, a succession of vibrant colors enclosed in a single form. Imagine the beauty of walking in the woods in autumn, admiring the colors while stepping on leaves that joyfully sound beneath your feet. I found this beautiful quote by Vincent Van Gogh: "As long as autumn exists, I won't have enough hands, canvases, and colors to paint the beauty I see. Materials Murano Glass. Technique Glass fusion and lampworking. A sheet of crystal glass fused with hundreds of very fine threads and colored filigree, worked by mixing canes and glass powders of various colors. The first part of the work involves shaping the crystal glass, then I create the filigree with lampworking, and everything is put in the oven for an initial fusion. Then I carry out the grinding work to eliminate small imperfections caused by the fusion. After these two phases, there's the very delicate third phase, the bending in the oven on refractory molds. A process that takes about 60 hours. The sculpture is complete with a signature on the base and a certificate of authenticity.

I was born in the beautiful city of Venice and from a young age, I followed my father's great passion for Murano glass, falling in love with this precious material linked to the traditions of my land. After my studies, I began collaborating with some of the most representative glass design companies in Murano, historic brands such as VeArt and Vistosi. My interest turned to the technical aspects of glass processing and decoration, research, design, and the study of this material, starting to design and create furnishing and lighting objects for national and international companies. In 2002, I received the prestigious task from the European Community and the Ministry of Equal Opportunities to coordinate courses in Venice aimed at promoting female employment and the development of glass craftsmanship workshops for this purpose. In 2003, I finally started my artistic glass fusion and lampworking laboratory, developing various techniques related to their processing. I have always loved glass for its brilliance, for the beauty of its endless colors and reflections, and I wanted to combine my knowledge of glass techniques with another passion of mine, painting. The precious silver leaf coupled with the glass sheet becomes my canvas to draw and paint on. Graffito, an ancient technique that I revisited in a modern key, combined with other artistic glass processing techniques, allows me to leave free space for my inspiration and creativity for the paintings, objects, and sculptures that represent my collections. Research involves and excites me, stimulating me to find new forms of artistic expression in original and unique works. I am one of the founding members of AMA - Association of Master Artisans of Glass, a brand for the safeguarding of the artistic and cultural heritage of Venetian glass and Made in Italy. My works have participated in various international events and exhibitions and are present in showrooms in many Italian and foreign cities.
