About The Artwork
A pair of marble statues, with mosaic marble drapery, on a black reflecting base. Collection of the Hotel Tharroe of Mykonos since 2008. The subject is an ancient conflict, of young women who idolize an older, more experienced one which they hope to someday become. The older woman, in turn, sees her youth leaving her, and harbors resentment towards people who still are what she once was. The various aspects of this passive aggressive relationship are depicted through a dance, with the colors chosen to highlight each character's emotional state.
