About The Artwork
Golden stone on a piece of a 20th century japanese farmer's coat made with various pieces of indigo-died cotton patched together in the soshiko technique. This is one of the series of "sculpted" paintings that were inspired to me by ancient pieces of indigo fabrics which have been included in the work itself. Fascination for indigo fabrics has come to me during my activity in fashion and fabrics creation. It means to me aristocracy and humility, high spirit and deep humanity, clearness and knowledge through life.
