ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A ceramic wall plate sculpture incorporating various words and writing techniques. Inlayed writing and transfers read, 'nothing travels faster than the orb', 'forget aerodynamics and 'anything can fly'. A child like face is inlayed into the clay with mouth wide open full of platinum fillings munching through the words. The word 'Arkhaios' is derived from the Greek form of 'ancient', 'from the beginning'. The wall plate has leather attachments on the back for wall hanging. 'Andy Shaw 2004 Orb' inscribed into the clay on the back.
