I am a multidisciplinary artist with a primary devotion to the creation of bookworks. Using a wide range of materials including recycled and handmade materials/mediums such as metals, plastics, fabrics, prints, metallic overprinting, crystals, sequins and many others find their way in my books. I've been creating bookworks for over 45 years experimenting with both form and content. Since meeting the immensely influential charismatic sound artist John Cage in 1972, I was and have been captivated by his theory of indeterminacy or chance which I have largely applied to my works since that time. Employing that concept has produced unexpected configurations which never would have appeared otherwise. My use of transparency has enhanced the visual effect of that concept. I have created over 450 bookworks employing the concept of indeterminacy, which has no visual limitations, and I will continue to explore them. I have had some recognition and good fortune to have my bookworks acknowledged both in the United States and abroad with ten works acquired by The Rare Books and Special Collections of the Library of Congress and many other highly regarded art institutions.
