“These series start from an event that profoundly changed my vision of life. In the month of January 2020, I had an accident when jumping from a vehicle in motion and without brakes. I lay prostrate on the asphalt, looking at the sky, breathing deeply and feeling life. The blow had broken my structure. A spinal operation and six weeks of intense therapy managed to rebuild my body and dimension my existence. Two months of quarantine of not being able to paint was strange and necessary for me. How could I cope with the huge canvases going up, down, stretching and cutting? How was it possible that the days passed and I did not drown without being able to unload on the canvas the strong emotional charge? Aimée Joaristi
