ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The Belfast Bap is a light, airy fluffy bread with a crisp crust. One loaf, two halves, pushed together, existing side by side, just like the communities of the Belfast that I grew up in. The soft, nourishing body of the Belfast Bap is replaced by two hardened, spikey, opposite halves, that have to live and work together. The creator of the Belfast Bap was an opponent of sectarianism, an industrial reformer and a man who sought justice and equality for all citizens. Belfast’s rich industrial heritage is represented by the titanium glaze and vulcanized rubber seal. Handbuilt two piece sculpture, formed in white clay, glaze decoration to outside, vulcanized rubber filling

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Winner, sculpture category, Signature Art Awards, Vyner Street, London. August 2011. Born 1968, Belfast. Largely self taught in ceramics.I strive to be unique, my work will divide opinion. It should be the main feature, the talking point. It is strong and masculine, certain pieces animal like. It touches on subjects like sexual deviancy, containment, aggression, with hints of religious symbolism, making distasteful subjects into attractive physical forms.
