Byzantine Equine V Sculpture

I have been fascinated by the migration of men and goods throughout our rich history. Ancient civilisations traveled back and bartered their way from East to West and back again across the vast continents, often on horseback. These animals carried loads and men with grace. Even today while East and West continue to influence each other in culture and art, we see amazing designers like Guo Pei marrying both with seamless grace and beauty. The Byzantines, the Persians, the Mongols and Mughals all used horses to travel and trade. This series of sculptures in bronze interprets my imaginings of those epic journeys taken by the brave and desperate. In my mind they carry me across the mountain ranges, the steppes, the deserts and rolling landscapes. Where will he carry you?
