About The Artwork
I commissioned several sculptures of historical characters for the Parisian Traditions store. Richelieu was one option. I read a history book about this cardinal and found out that he was not at all the same as described in Dumas's novel The Three Musketeers. Seeing a picture where Richelieu was presented in knightly armor with a marshal's baton, I decided to portray him in this form. I hope that connoisseurs of French history will appreciate my work.
