Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system and its surface is never still. The Great Red Spot is a storm, larger than the Earth, that has been raging for at least 100years. My lifelong interest in astronomy inspired this piece, and the layers of resin are perfect for depicting the depth of the layers of the clouds blowing in bands on Jupiter. Original and unique, glitter and mica pigments catch the light of this fluid-art and the flowing nature of the resin is perfect for capturing the flowing nature of the 'Clouds of Jupiter'. This artwork is made to be a dining table, however the table top could be detached from the 'spider' table legs and mounted to the wall using the table leg fittings if preferred. The glass and resin top is 0.5inches thick but the the metal mounting points would hold it a further 0.5 inches away from the wall. The resin used is countertop grade; both hardwearing and food-safe. So this artwork can safely be used as a table to eat from. Form AND function!
