In Greek mythology, Dionysus is eternally a young god, the son of Zeus and Semele, the daughter of King Theb Cadmus. He is the patron of the plant world, viticulture, winemaking, productive forces of nature, enthusiastic love and inspiration. Festivals in honor of Dionysus were called Bacchanalia. In the Renaissance, the theme of Dionysus in art is associated with the affirmation of the joy of being; the beginning of the image was put by Mantegna; Durer, Altdorfer, Titian, Annibale Carracci, Rubens, Jordaens, Poussin, Caravaggio, Michelangelo addressed the plot. The author depicts the beautiful, young God Dionysus sitting on the panther in a seemingly flying motion and only developing folds touching the ground. In his left hand he holds a rython in the form of a ram's head with scenes of bacchanalia, and in the right he squeezes a staff of "tiers" with a spruce cone on top, tied with a festive ribbon In the curls developing in the wind, a wreath of leaves and golden grapes, and on the way he carries a full amorphous wine with an image of the battle of heroes of the Trojan War, Achilles and Hector. Behind the composition is seen a beautiful vine grape symbolizing the fact that where is the god Dionysus flourishing winemaking. Fertile land is decorated with cabochons of amethyst and conceals in itself treasures in the form of antique coins from Hellenism to the Roman imperial period.
