About The Artwork
Unveiled in June of 2021 as part of the video showcase, THE ULTIMATE UNVEILED (tybeculture.com/trybe-tv) featuring artists throughout the globe. The artwork is inspired by African and Meso-American royalty, and is part of my Tribal Fusion series. Narrative: DJOMO — LION, WARRIOR, KING (fictional character) is a great leader in a post-modern day African nation. This future world has become a treacherous place where survival is a daily trial. His melanin protects him from the scorch of a depleted ozone. Djomo brandishes tribal marks to symbolize his victories — there is plenty of room for more. My work is inspired by Chukes and Woodrow Nash. My works evoke a strong emotional response from viewers; a sense of history and legacy into a future world that appreciates strength and beauty among people of African descent throughout the world. This work is purposed for museum, hotel, and indoor public spaces where gatherings of people can view my art together from a distance (for greater effect).
