Sculpture, Resin on Plastic
Size: 20 W x 30 H x 2.5 D in
In an attempt to preserve the life form of palm leaves intact on canvas, the Driftscape series explores- stillness and quickness through the preservation of flora, and color slippage throughout its many layers. To unify leaves, and canvas, a forest green is spray painted as base. Followed by “school bus yellow” to create contrast from the monochromatic stillness.

In the current epoch of the Anthropocet, I can no longer discern whether the Garden is being cultivated or destroyed. Following my initial interests in architecture, I became drawn to processes of making and unmaking, and how new construction always incorporates aspects of destruction. After completing my undergraduate studies in architecture at University of Michigan, I wanted to expand my investigation of liminal spaces, metaphors for displacement, and the erosion of self and state. I’m interested in flipping the Global South; through sculpture, living installations, and works on canvas that relocate power in the most unlikely of spaces.
