About The Artwork

What with the advent of the Artemis mission to Mars on the horizon nearly fifty five years after our landing on the Moon, this work now is in it's 'vintage' stage as there is now another surge of art works created recently reflecting the Astrological and physical states of manned missions to outer space. This work is groundbreaking in that sense, as well as technologically an art piece. 1960's space race. By 1970's it already happened. I am enamored with science and technology as well as trained as a fine artist. The figure work in the first piece, Non-Electric Breast Work was the touch stone for this project. A Winged goddess Athena! and her warrior, Nike . The idea of flight takes place on earth via air. An airplane wing creates lift and the form I chose reflects this in all regards into precious metals. This work and the other Non-Electric Breast Work were both published in Playboy Magazine June 1977. The work has been shown a various private galleries as well as the Playboy Mansion. Currently the purchaser will have a 3 week wait as new lithium batteries must be installed for the unit to be functional (at my cost and time). Also a simple plexiglass 'stand' will come with it. FEBRUARY 2020: Work is now in the US Dept of State Art in Art to Embassies. Simply stated: I like to create many things. Painting is a real pleasure because I can translate an image, in my view, the way I'd like to see it in oil onto a board. I've always painted. I've been an 'artist/designer' all my life. In '64 I won the coveted Robert C.J. Traub (the Traub Mfg Co., Detroit, MI) Memorial Scholarship to study art in Europe. At eighteen I left the US a single language speaker and toured Europe via coach, train and plane. Of course it makes an impact on a young person. At that time, Europe was somewhat copacetic and comfortable with American tourists. Knowing I'd be back, I left with ambition and drive to start a life in the fine art/design business. After university I began working the the allied design fields including Urban, Automotive and Product. Having a full passion for 3D works, I continued to create in both metals (jewelry as well as 2 D works. My Jewelry designs are currently involved with expressive automotive shapes that reflect aeroforms of late 60's 70's. Having won awards in the jewelry world I am inspired to create high content gold jewelry on a contractual basis. I won an award in 2008 at the International Housewares show for a (patented design) tea kettle. My inspiration was a simple fortune cookie that I developed(yet with out commerical success, the design sits on the shelf.) Collections: Estate of Syd Mead, Hollywood Oprah Winfrey. Hans J.
