About The Artwork

This Greek philosopher (341 BC-270 BC) has earned my attention for his humanist philosophy. Claiming man to be the author of his own life, and that thoughts, philosophy and knowledge do not make sense and they are not at the service of man, giving the first theoretical basis of fraternity as a social and cultural foundation. This art piece, made out bronze using the lost wax technique, deals with the philosopher in an intimate exercise of introspection, where the agitation and geometric complexity of his hair aims to emulate the intensity of his thoughts in the physical understanding of nature. His appearance and beard imprint on him a great sense of dignity and wisdom.
