About The Artwork
I am inspired by leaf piles that line suburban roads in the autumn. I hope the piece will inspire feelings of longing and nostalgia for the lonely sense of autumn that I so enjoy. The sculpture is created with found natural and man made objects, such as fallen leaves, and a discarded straw laundry basket that I painted gold to signify their value. Medium: leaves, acrylic paint, basket. I made up the style to replicate the piles of leaves on the street. The basket underneath gives the "pile" more volume. Year Created: 2007
