About The Artwork

The hyena at the center of my work is always interesting for me. She is an animal despised by anthropomorphism with negative symbolic value ... the unclean corpse eater, often viewed as a bastard of dog and wolf. In Ovid's "Metamorphoses" it is said that the hyena can change its sex, and also in the early Christian "Physiologus" it says: "Sometimes she is male, sometimes female, and she is a very unclean animal because she changes her nature". In Pliny it is said that the hyena can imitate the voice of humans and call names, and also hypnotize other animals by touching them with their paws or even with their shadows. This work was created from several painted (acrylic) resin layers. This creates a three-dimensionality.
