Goddess of death & rebirth Sculpture

Hello, i am Nounya, born 1961 in the Netherlands, currently based in the Netherlands. Throughout my life i lived in Spain, UK, and Portugal in very remote area's where wild nature is still to enjoy. I create fantasy sculptures resembling spirits of nature with natural materials as wood, wings, feathers, bones, and other natural objects and materials wich i find on my travels and walks in nature.  The objects i find are already a sculpture on itself, created by the caresses of the elements, telling me a story. By extending or shortening the curves, adding clay and other natural materials, their story is enmphasised and revealed. I am especially passionate about the metamorphic state in which the human form merges with forms in nature. Inspired by Celtic and Northern European mythology and druïdy, where all lifeforms are interconnected and the intelligence and creativity of our cosmos is infinite. After my studies in 2002, i became a mother at 42. The process of birthing and motherhood connected me deeper than ever to the forces of nature and i felt the call to explore deeper into my intrinsic connection with nature.  From my perspective we Are nature, we are part of it, not separate from it but symbiotic with it, as one big organism where all is interconnected. I started to study and explore my Celtic, Northern European heritage, connecting to nature, the seasonal cycles, the elements, the animals, my ancestors, visiting sacred sites and working with the medicine wheel. From 2004 on i facilitated group rituals and ceremonies connected to the cycles in nature, offering an invitation to experience the connection between nature and our human body. Through ritual dance, intuitive music, the primordial voice, breath & bodywork, and artistic expression, i learned to journey into other realms and dimensions where i connect to more subtle energies like, for example, nature spirits, the ancestors and earth energies. At that time i also started to create power objects, altarpieces, sculptures, drawings and paintings, so all artforms where interconnected to eachother.
