About The Artwork
Watching a bunch of artists here in Pietrasanta using local artisans to produce big sculptures, I became aware of the problem of a limited selection of finishes. A Noguchi looked like a Moore, if it was produced by the same studio. There were only about three different ways in which marble was presented, either highly polished, bush hammered, or battered with a point. I was determined to do something with marble that I hadn't seen before. When I finished this piece, the other artists all asked me what studio I had found to do this type of work for me.
