Here comes the Sun Sculpture

Presenting this extremely powerful and thought provoking artwork by Nottingham artist Leigh Kelsey Recycling scrap and found metal the Artist has incorporated them into this wall sculpture after firing and rusting the hand cut pieces.Each piece has been worked in great detail to achieve the delicate effect desired. The ferocious maelstrom of fire and brimstone carved intricately and emblazoned with scorching colour, offers a spectacular contrast with the naturally fired patina of the sunflower. Addictively TACTILE and heavily carved, this sculpture casts altering shadows and changes in detail as light is cast across the surface, see the patina on the sunflower change in parts depending on the lighting. Sunflowers are not usually depicted in this way, however the Artist has endeavoured to create a catastrophic yet beautiful scene to depict the end of the Earth by Firestorm as our Sun encroaches too close, hence the story of our helpless sunflower defiant in ash as a final momentary statue is portrayed in this fantastic and singularly unique piece of Contemporary Art!
