About The Artwork
This piece was inspired by Roman sculptures of the Caesars. The idea was to create a sort of abstraction of these sculpture with subtle African features. The idea is to express masculinity and the way strength in the modern man it is questioned? The name being a Spanish word, the features being African and the inspiration taken from Roman sculptures of the Caesars is subtle commentary on the fact that it is masculinity past and present across races that is being questioned where strength is concerned.

I am a Jamaican. I am a self-taught artist who uses my natural talent to work primarily in three-dimensions. As an artist who works mostly in 3D, my works take the form of sculptures from limestone and wood, assemblages from found objects and relief images. My work so far as been an exploration of masculinity, puns, humor and the use of materials sourced from the surroundings. A graduate of the Utech's Caribbean School of Architecture, I use my creative abilities and architectural skills to solve problems. For me, creating things is second nature. I have been awarded on many occasions in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission's (JCDC) visual arts competition.
