About The Artwork
I'm a professor of Academy of Fine Art in Warsaw. Since 2001 I run an degree-awarding studio at the faculty of sculpture. I was always interested in animals,especially horses. This one is from series "Shadows". I created my own style. Its made in synthetic stone from natural materials. "The works of Janusz Pastwa contain a philosophical poem. The themes that are interwoven there are reflections on time and space,on transience,as well as self-reflexive ones: on the material and its nature, and the tradition and boundaries of sculpture. There is something in them that makes us think about the intermediate stat between matter and form,mentioned by Schiller" Piotr Szubert , art critic.
