Jar of Not Remembrance Sculpture

“Jar of Not Remembrance” in collaboration with @apollo_galleries This piece combines two cultures separated by millennia and thousands of kilometres. The vessel itself is a 4080 years old burial face pot coming from Indus Valley, a civilisation lasting from 3300-1300 BCE. Whereas the breakage has been treated using Kintsugi, a Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with gold powder, dating back to 15th century. In this case however, I used an epoxy resin as my ordinary medium of art restoration with an application of 24ct gold leafs. My main intention behind this piece was to bridge time and space and create an ultimately original piece containing both cultural and metaphysical values.
