About The Artwork
I am interested in the softness of the female form. I like to manipulate shapes and see how they are put together and create a whole shape. This piece was sawdust fired and came out of the kiln with a round spot of unsmoked clay which was very unusual. It would not be possible to reproduce this if I tried. The firing process is very random and the colours produced by smoke/sawdust firing compliment the form. This is a passive form, gentle and portraying the female as a submissive soul.
