ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Paper wall art consisting of 45 unique pieces of folded and glued envelopes of paper. Each piece has a different shape, I tried out several envelope shapes, filled each one of them with a small ball of tissue paper and sealed it. The shapes resemble flowers or coral, especially if seen together in a formation like this. The pieces can be hung on the wall in any imaginable formation, that's the nice thing about it. It doesn’t matter how large or small your wall is, there is always room for these flower shapes. The shapes can be hung on a small nail on the wall. The sizes vary from 6 to 15cm in diameter, they all era about 4 cm high.

In response to the ongoing digitalisation, paper artist Imre van Buuren (Almelo, 1969) is making books with accompanying cassettes by hand in her studio in The Hague, the Netherlands. The books can be filled as you like, with your stories, thoughts and images. You can write in them and paste photographs so it really becomes Your Book. Imre is looking for a quiet and subdued atmosphere in her work. Combining assembled paper with silk and threads to obtain a intime artwork that consists of a handmade book stored in a cassette that has a cover which consists of a collage of small items.
