ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The ladies bag project. It was my curiosity that led me to this structures research. A way to present paper structures on an object; a ladies bag. The bag can be openend. Technique: paper and thread, stacked, folded, sewn. Don't place this object directly in sunlight as the white paper turns beige.

In response to the ongoing digitalisation, paper artist Imre van Buuren (Almelo, 1969) is making books with accompanying cassettes by hand in her studio in The Hague, the Netherlands. The books can be filled as you like, with your stories, thoughts and images. You can write in them and paste photographs so it really becomes Your Book. Imre is looking for a quiet and subdued atmosphere in her work.
