ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work is made from clay and metal, receiving its colous from iron sulfate during the firing process. The firing is a raku processm, which means that the object is taken out of the kiln at around 1050°C. Through reduction with woodchips carbon is incorporated in de ceramic, especially to be seen at the cracks. The green "glass" is added in a later process. There is a hanging system mounted at the back so it will stay 10 cm away from the wall and the light can fall through.
