ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My mosaic Water is Life is a conceptual artwork inspired by water. Though it is abstract, it shows us the importance of water resources in our world and human depreciation of this precious source of life. When there is enough water everything is live and blossoming - people, nature, the whole world. Shortage of water kills life and desert comes to rule. In civilized countries we have enough water (so far) and we don't even recognize its value. But we have to change our attitude before it's too late! I used colorful mosaic glass and smalti glass to symbolize Water as source of Life for everything on earth. White marble pebbles symbolize both desert and peoples reckless approach to usage of fresh water.
