ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was inspired by our Street Art calendar in the loo! The idea being that the cigarette is painted on the "wall" and her fingers are pretending to hold the cigarette. That finger gesture can also obviously be the rude gesture which i often find smokers to be. So this is my way of showing my anti smoking feeling with some humor. And her arm is very handy for carrying the vase as it acts like a handle. These flowers aren't included but just to show that the vase can contain water.

I was born in England but have been living in Holland for 35 years. I've been working for myself as a ceramic artist for 25 years. My passion is throwing so my sculptures are also all made out of thrown pieces. I also enjoy making unusual teapots. Last year i won two prizes in China with my teapots. I get my inspiration from everywhere, from something i might have seen on the news to people waiting for a bus. I like to "use" my art for expressing an opinion, either political, environmental or whatever other random thought i might have. I also like to put some humor into the work even though it can be a serious subject. I'm hoping to make people think but with a smile on their face.
