About The Artwork

The title is derived from a native American language "Ojibwe" and means "of the same." origin ’and is also the origin of the concept totem (pole). The beads are alternately black and light gray (made by mixing / melting red, green and blue glaze while baking in the kiln). The ceramic beads, which is an 'ancient' material, hang on a kind of body that I have treated with 'modern' epoxy. But this modern material is a bit yellowed and appears to be communicate that there has been an aging process. Thus these two appear moving materials towards each other in time.
