Organic form 2 is a papier-mache sculpture on canvas made with recycled cardboard, sand and ink. A kind of germinal form, with several branches, for the realization of which I used fallen twigs, assembled and placed in a plaster cast. The branches which, having fallen on the soil of the flower beds and which are considered as waste material, emerge from a barren surface such as the ground.

Bianca De Maio is an italian visual artist born in Naples in 1976. She is a self-taught artist and from a very young age she became interested in drawing and painting, while she attended high school to become a teacher, and studied pedagogy and philosophy, she continuously practiced drawing and oil painting. In 1995 she made her first solo show in the Viviani Park in Via Girolamo Santacroce in Naples. Later, due to personal events, her work became irregular, but the desire to increase her competencies led her to begin university studies in history of art. In 2009 she decided to devote herself permanently to painting. She began to sell paintings on commission and, after graduating, she began working in her first studio in Naples in 2014, mainly as a portraitist, alternating his artistic practice with teaching art history. For some years she has been devoting most of her time to artistic practice, and in 2018 she moved to London, where he currently works and lives. In her work she always tries to emphasise the qualities of the materials and their expressive potential and she usually starts to work by observing the natural world, with a realistic approach that also feeds on personal imagination, and her visual vocabulary inspired by the surrounding world.
