About The Artwork
This piece is inspired by the flower of the passion flower, with its colorful concentric corona filaments that form some kind of radial rainbow. "Passiflora" shows how different the glass can look: vibrant and dense colors on a transparent, almost invisible base that is able to contain them all. This unique piece has been fired in the kiln for three times at a range of high temperatures, in order to achieve the contrast between the visible and the invisible, the solid reality and the evanescent imagination. The beauty of this material caught me when I first met it at the glass school "Center del Vidre" in Barcelona, in 1996; after finishing my studies, I began to work with its magic in my own workshop, in the city of Vilanova del Cami (Barcelona - Spain).
