Chris Frappier | The Art of Strength Chris Frappier’s art and life are a testament to the powerful connection between creativity and physical discipline. A self-taught stone carver and ink artist, Chris brings the same grit and determination to his studio in Fergus, Ontario, Canada that he applies to his athletic pursuits. His athletic achievements are a reflection of his dedication: a 20-time IAWA world record holder, with recent feats including a 560-pound Dinnie Deadlift and a 560-pound Bavarian Deadlift at age 60 in the 100 kg class. He is a former marathon runner with a personal best of 3 hours 6 minutes for the 42.2-kilometre distance. Chris has completed 13 marathons, including the Boston Marathon. Chris channels this passion for pushing boundaries into his art, with each piece celebrating resilience and imagination. In addition to his art, he organizes the True North True Strength competitions, Canada’s only all-round weightlifting competition. One hundred percent of the monies earned from his art sales goes directly toward organizing and running this yearly event, giving Canadian athletes the opportunity to compete on the world stage. After a long career in the global printing and packaging industry, Chris now focuses entirely on his artistic vision. Each piece is an invitation to explore the powerful unity of body and mind.
